The Problem

“When we heard in 2003 that Dr Edmeades was providing a one-on-one service to farmers we immediately sought his services. We were confused about soil fertility and fertilisers and were not getting the answers we needed for our farm.  After visiting the farm and discussing our goals he showed us that we were ‘under cooking’ the farm. The soil fertility was not optimal and we were losing economic opportunity. He recommended a capital fertiliser program followed by a maintenance fertiliser program. The farm has not looked better”.

The Outcome

Since the capital fertiliser program in 2003 and 2004 production has increased from 256 to 377 kg product/ha (27%). Our maintenance fertiliser program is now costing about $10/su.
